Invitation to a Mini Tour in Tsuyazaki, Fukuoka - Mid-June Edition

Summer seems to be fast approaching here in Fukuoka by skipping the rainy season this year.

Today, I am inviting all of you to come with me for about 5-6 km walk around Tsuyazaki, suburban Fukuoka, again.

The walk starts from the path between the paddy fields. Now the rice planting is in full swing.

Hilly side of the town finds wheat farms. Crops have already been harvested.

Welcome to Miyajidake Shrine.
They have a special pond inside the premises where we can enjoy the beautifully bloomed Edo Waterlilies (until the mid-June.)

The shimenawa (a sacred straw rope) here is considered the biggest and boldest in Japan.

A path in the shrine premises.

The magnificent and splendid view from the shrine premises.
The sando (shrine approach) leads all the way to the ocean ahead.

The sign says the hiking course is on the hill surrounding the shrine.
Does anyone want to join me?

Finally, we have arrived at the seaside.

It looks like a private beach all the time.

Steps to the ocean, how romantic!

Across the bay, there is the central Fukuoka city, and far ahead of that is Korea.

Crystal clear water.
