Not Done With Mounded Tomb Yet: Deep Inside Miyajidake Shrine

Miyajidake Shrine is not only about that Japan's boldest shimenawa rope.

Finally, Takemoto-san invited us to Miyajidake Shrine, one of the most popular new year worshipping spot in Fukuoka.

The shrine has become more popular recently as some TV program introduced that the sun sets straight ahead of the torii gate on the beach, which is the entry point to the shrine, twice in the year around the end of October and the end of February.

Usually, people only visit the main shrine, but Takemoto-san guided us to the inside premise to Miyajidake Kofun, where enshrines a mounded tomb built back around 1,500 years ago. Photography was not allowed inside so indulge yourself in the time trip without being bothered by anything.
