Bitters Do Good!? Ensuring the Frank and Open Feedbacks from Others - Kasako-juku (かさこ塾)

"Hey, don't take it personally, it's not about you, idiot narcissist!" is actually his usual tone on his blog. However, meeting in-person, he is a gentleman, and I don't know why this gap is made.

*I'm gonna make English version of it, once the Japanese is finalised.

Last Friday was the third out of four lessons of Kasako-juku (かさこ塾,) one of the emerging popular self-branding courses in Japan open for anyone who wants to pursue the lifetime career and/or passion.

At the end of the previous (second) lesson fortnight ago, the “Guru” of self-branding Kasako-san (かさこさん) had given us homework to prepare an original business card draft. Before the class, we were told to take print of 30 copies of the draft to distribute among the other participants and galleries who would attend the class (they were called “Graduates 卒業生” and allowed to listen to the class any time even after completing the course.) This way, each of us got 20 brand-new business card samples on the table by the time the class started, and surely none of them resemble each other but unique.

At the beginning of the class, Kasako-san distributed a bunch of plain papers and asked us to write down our feedback for other people’s cards, giving just 2 minutes each. When given such a short time to do a task, I think most of the people will manage to write the “first impression” only. And that’s the essence and important point in that day’s lesson. The first impression lasts long, and this way we’ve got an opportunity to collect 20 unique opinions from the first viewer of your work, who are complete strangers. Isn’t it powerful!

Surely, I also had designed my original business card before the class, putting all my heart by taking out time from busy schedule or sacrificing my sleep (by sometimes staying up till early in the morning.) Also, I took help of another participant's blog post for how to create a business card using PowerPoint.

In the meantime, I sought several feedbacks from "Kasako-san the Guru," and every time he would give me somewhat bitter or sour opinion. Hey, but if not this time, when will we have a professional opportunity to receive objective feedbacks from the third-person who has no business interest in you?

SO, here are the 20 objective feedbacks, my precious asset; let me savour them before I pick and implement a few. Afterall, that's my choice and freedom!
