今月はじめまで日本で過ごしていた。

太陽の日差しが強く、非常に蒸し暑い本州以南の夏。
これから8月を迎えるにあたり、まだまだ暑い日が続くだろう。
安くてかわいいコットン服が大好きなわたしが、いろいろ試してみた結果、快適に過ごしたいと思ったときに一番有効だったのは、やはりインド服だった。
薄くて軽い綿と、比較的ゆったり取った身頃が、湿度を上手に逃し、通気性を保っている。
何より、着た姿も涼し気だ。

国土の大部分が常夏のインド、数千年の知恵から作られた、暑さに強い服なら、やはりインド製に限る。
とはいえ、インドでも庶民ど真ん中の生活を送るわたしにとっては、数千ルピーの価格が付いたアノーキー（Anokhi）やファブインディア（Fab India）は、特別な時に着る高級ブランドであり、そうそう手が出るものではない。
しかし、手軽に着られる服を探しに、わざわざオートリキシャーやウーバーを飛ばして下町の買い物街、トゥルシーバーグ（Tulsibaug）まで行く時間も気力もないことが多い。

そんなわたしにとってのお気に入りは、近所の大型ショッピングモール、「Phoenix Marketcity」に大きな店舗面積を有するディスカウントアパレル店、「FBB」だ。

めっちゃかわいいクルタ - FBB

先日、若者のお買い物のついでに、わたしもひさしぶりに「Phoenix Marketcity」のFBBを物色し、お気に入りの形だったので愛用しているクルタの色違いを見つけたので、399ルピーで購入してきた。

裾の形やフィット感などが絶妙でお気に入り。
 

FBBの難点は、安い代わりにちょうどよいサイズが品切れが多い点だ（L～XXLはやたらとある）。
それは、オンラインもしかりなので、一期一会と心得、気に入ったものが見つかったら迷わず購入するのである。

なおシルク製だったが、サリーもペチコートを履かないで巻いたら、風が通り抜けて暑い日も涼しく感じた。
ぜひ日本でも、プネーでも、サリーを気軽に巻いていきたい。

The seminar on "The past, the present and the future of the Sari" was followed by a live-draping series. I showed three ways to wear a Sari: a skirt, pants and a dress! @mycocktail_life was the first enthusiastic participant and had come prepared with a pair of shorts. ?? For the seminar, Kamana had worn this blue Kadappa Sari on a petticoat. I used the cotton Sari and showed the enthusiastic group how to make a dress out of it?? using just knots and pleats. We were missing a belt to finish the look. Just then @manzoosai in the group, undid the strap on her friend's handbag and gave it to us. :) I used the same Sari to make a pair of #pants (swipe right) and answered the quintessential question, "How do you pee in the pant drape?" The reaction of the audience was noteworthy ranging from shock to awe. They loved the #versatility of the dhoti drape! On another note, Kamana went #home in this drape ?? With @not_so_anonymous_anymore , I showed the Venuka Gundaram drape three ways making it a Sari, #gown or a #skirt depending on the occasion. Everyone loved the versatility. Veda wanted to highlight the pompoms on the pallu of the Sari and so that's what we did. ???? What do you think about the drapes? Which would you wear and where?
